Add your first domain
Enter your website URL in the Domain URL field — for example,
example.com. You don’t need to include https://.Mentionpath immediately enriches your brand profile: it analyzes your site and pre-fills your domain name, detects industry, business model, and suggests competitors. This takes a few seconds.Once the analysis is complete, review the pre-filled Domain name field and correct it if needed, then click Continue. The enrichment step runs in the background while you wait. If your site is behind a login or blocks crawlers, some fields may not auto-fill — you can complete them manually in later steps.
Configure your domain profile
This step tells Mentionpath the geographic and business context it needs to track your brand accurately. Fill in each field:
- Country — the primary country your business operates in. Select Worldwide if you don’t target a specific country.
- City — an optional city or region to narrow tracking further.
- Language — the primary language of your content and audience.
- Geographic reach — choose one: Local, Regional, National, or Global. This determines the default scope for prompt tracking.
- Industry — select the category that best describes your business. Mentionpath may have pre-filled this based on your site.
- Business model — B2B, B2C, or Both.
- Customer type — check all that apply: the types of customers you serve.
Add your competitors
Enter the domains of at least three direct competitors — for example,
competitor.com. Mentionpath uses these to compare your AI visibility against theirs and to surface competitive mentions.Mentionpath suggests competitors based on your site and industry. Click a suggestion chip to add it to a slot. You can add up to five competitors total (three required, two optional).Click Continue when you’ve added at least three.Set up your first prompts
Prompts are the queries your target customers type into AI tools when looking for solutions like yours. Mentionpath runs these queries across AI providers and reports how often — and how prominently — your brand appears in the responses.Navigate to Prompts in the sidebar and click Create prompts. You can add prompts three ways:
- Create manually — type one prompt at a time
- Create with AI — describe your business and let Mentionpath generate a set of prompts automatically
- Import from CSV — upload a file if you already have a list
- “best project management software for small teams”
- “how to automate invoice processing”
- “B2B marketing analytics tools”
